Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City, and the Hutong Rickshaw Tour...

Yesterday was extra great. We took a bus to THE Tiananmen Square - which was bigger than I imagined. It was surreal to be standing right there. The Forbidden City was incredible. So much detail on all of the buildings, and tons and TONS of symbols and significance in the design. The Hutong Tour might have been mine & dad's favorite thing so far. The rickshaws are these little carts that fit two people pulled by a guy on a bicycle. Hutong is a little area in Beijing where there's a lot of preservation of old homes and buildings... So we rode around and got to see a bunch of different stuff. Every once in a while, we'd get out and our tour guide would talk to us about different aspects of the area's history. It was very informative, I think we all learned a lot. Near the end of the tour, we got to stop and actually visit a family that lives in the area. They told us about their family, their history, and about the perfect, "fung-shuay" (spelling?) layout of their home. Anyway, we had a fabulous day yesterday, and today should be incredible, too. We're headed to the Great Wall this morning. OH, and last night, we ate at a Chinese resturaunt in China for the first time!! It was very good. :)

Here are some pictures from the acrobatic show a couple of days ago. I couldn't get them up before for some reason...
This sign was in the auditorium where we saw the acrobats. I think they were trying to say "Be civil to each other." Pretty funny.

This is us trying to take a smiling picture, but it smelled SO bad...

Hope you enjoy all the pictures. Thanks for your prayer and support!!!
